Autograph letters signed from J.W. Wallack to Mr. Holmes [manuscript], 1840 August 13.

(1) Refers to a misunderstanding between Wallack and managers of the Brighton Theatre. He discusses various Shakespeare plays in which he does not want to appear; he has costumes for some Shakespeare plays, but not others. (2) Concerns the proposed production of several Shakespeare plays and the overlapping engagements of Kean and Wallack which amounts to a violation of the contract with Kean. Letters addressed "Dear Sir." Addressed from Gloucester Place. Both letters are dated August 13.
